Jamie's diary - Introduction

I've wanted a baby for as long as I can remember. So, when my then-fiance said as soon as the Depo Provera was out of my system we could start TTC, I was very excited! That was in April of 1999...I'll get back to that, but first for a little about us.

I'm 22 years old, and DH, Kris, is 21. Kris has a 13 month old son from a previous relationship who we call 'lil Kris, and visits every weekend. Ours was a whirlwind relationship -- we met in December '98, and have been happily married since June 7, 1999. Some people might think that is way too quick, but we just knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. If all goes as planned, we're going to renew our vows and have a honeymoon in February of 2000. We figure that will be about our last chance before we have to worry about babysitters for a week!

So, we agreed that in May of 1999, after the Depo-Provera, we'd start. In preparation, I found an ob/gyn on our insurance and went for a preconception visit. Doctor said I'm young and healthy so I should have no problems getting pregnant. When I asked about the Depo, he said it usually takes about 3 to 6 months from coming off it to get pregnant. But since I'm so young and healthy it wouldn't take that long at all. Little did we know!

In June I started having symptoms of Endometriosis, and was diagnosed in July '99. After my laparoscopy, my doctor said treatment would be either get pregnant, or bring on temporary menopause through hormone treatment. Simple choice! Since having 14 day cycles isn't helpful to getting pregnant, I thought after the surgery it would be a breeze once my cycles got regulated. Wrong again!

Well, here we are now. It's the end of October, 1999, and my cycles have been regular since August. I'm currently in limbo -- the time between the big 'O' and AF. Unfortunately, I'm having more PMS symptoms than PG symptoms so we shall see. You never know, I could be pleasantly surprised and graduate rather quickly to the Pregnancy diaries.

I hope you stay tuned to find out = 0
