Jessica's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 24, 2000

39 weeks! Hooray! Only five days left till my due date! :) I had some bloody show this morning (Saturday) and my midwife said that it was probably my cervix dilating some more. So, I guess we'll know on Thursday whether I'm dilated more or not. I can't remember if I told in my last entry about last Sunday, so here's a brief synopsis of what happened. I gushed clear fluid from my vagina two or three times and we were SO sure my water had broken. Called the midwife and she said to just take it easy and we could stay home as long as nine more hours. So, we went for a long walk, took in a movie, did all we could. Finally went in to get checked and they decided it wasn't my water after all :( I was contracting a bit, but nothing major. And, I'm still here waiting. But, today when I woke up and went to the bathroom, there was a good bit of blood when I wiped. Nothing since, but it's still exciting. We're making progress! I'd like to not make it to my appointment on Thursday, but I guess it's OK if I do.

My friend Lorig showed up this afternoon and announced she and her family were taking me to Scalini's Italian restaurant tonight to have the supposedly labour-inducing meat sauce and I ended up taking one bite too many and getting sick. Oh, well. Dinner was nice, tho!

Nothing much else is really happening. My animals are doing well. When Don calls me at night he puts the phone up to Hokey so I can hear him purr. I miss that little fur ball :) I've just been feeling really tired so I think I'll just turn in early tonight and try to get some rest. Hopefully I'll need it! :)
