Nothing too exciting is happening in baby land this week except Benny has decided that it's a lot of fun to kick mommy's bladder all the time. Ouchies. Really painful, lemme tell you.
One exciting thing in my non-baby life is that I'm fostering two baby kittens from the humane society. They're only 3 1/2 weeks old! I'm getting an early taste of all those nighttime feedings. I named them Hokey and Pokey (yes, I know. Not too creative but it fits!). They'll go back to the humane society in about two and a half weeks so everyone send "grow, kitty, grow!" vibes. They seem to be eating fairly well, though. The main problem is the black kitty (Pokey) seems to have a case of nipple confusion and doesn't like to nurse from the syringe. Hokey doesn't care. He sees food and is happy to consume it. I'm going to try to track down a kitten nurser bottle for Pokey and see if that doesn't make it easier for him. I'll try to get a picture of them and post it next week. They look kind of like little rats right now, one black and one white.
The other wonderful thing is that after three years of wanting to, I'm enrolled in a midwifery correspondence course! My grandfather agreed to pay for it as long as I continue with college as well (I made a 97 on my latest exam, by the way). It'll be very hard but I'm determined and this is definitely what I want. I'm looking forward to it.
Well, that's it for me! Just remember to send good vibes to Hokey and Pokey so they stay nice and strong!
