Jessica's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

June 1, 2000

I apologize for not writing last week. I was VERY busy. My Uncle Henry passed away and we went down to Florida for the funeral and then I had to come back and go to class and then we went to Florida yet again over the weekend. Things just weren't in place for me to be able to sit for a few minutes and write. But, here I am now.

We had a pretty good time in Florida except that I will NEVER go on a boat again. Stupid me, having never been sea sick in my life, figures that since this is my family reunion and everyone is going on the lovely 10-hour chartered deep-sea fishing trip, that I would join them. Everyone said it was a bad idea. Everyone said I'd get sick. Did I listen? Ooooh, no I did not. And I was VERY sick. Sickest person on that boat and my Aunt Donna was pretty sick, too! DH got kinda icky feeling and just laid down a lot. I couldn't get off my back because if I did I was ill. But, after we got off the boat we felt better and enjoyed the rest of the weekend. We went swimming in the pool (which I HIGHLY recommend to any pregnant woman. It's lovely in the water -- no back pain) and had a good time. Ben has been kicking up a storm in there. It's funny because now sometimes I can see my shirt bouncing up and down on my belly! I think sometimes that he has the hiccups and that is so cute to watch :).

I put up the crib on Tuesday and it's so beautiful. There are little stuffed animals in it and a musical mobile thing hanging from the top. It's one of those convertible cribs in a nice honey colour. I almost cried when I finally looked down in it and realized that MY baby is going to be sleeping in there in just a few months. It's just so incredible that I can't belive it sometimes!

Well, I have finals on Monday so back to studying for me!
