Heidi's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 17, 2000

Heidi moved in to the allergy house.

Well, I’m back! This is my first entry from our new house in Flower Mound! The move out in Chicago went well; I am glad it is over. Since we were going to be there four days we decided to bring our bird Molly with us. I didn’t think we knew any of Michel’s coworkers well enough to ask them to bird-sit. She was surprisingly good on the plane and we very excited to see her old house.

We moved in here on Saturday and had a big surprise. The place was filthy! The previous owners had two cats and a greyhound and I don’t think they vacuumed at all since the last time we saw the house, as there was pet and people hair everywhere! I won’t even mention the dog do-do in the back yard. Luckily, we were having the carpets cleaned Saturday and that helped get the hair and some of the smell out. I know lots of people with pets and their houses never smelled like this one does. Maybe the cats peed all over the house -– nice. I think it is getting better slowly, but not fast enough for me. We both have allergies and I have asthma. I am getting really tired of wheezing here. I have started to call it the "allergy house," and sometimes the "cat-pee house" but only when I feel really tired and cranky!

Sunday we were having the washer/dryer and fridge delivered and it never showed. Turns out they got lost and just returned the stuff to the warehouse. So, we called and asked for it to be delivered Monday. They said sure, they can deliver the washer and dryer, but we have to order a new fridge. The delivery people dropped the fridge and damaged it too badly to be delivered. So we are without a fridge until Thursday! We have already eaten so much fast food.

According to my fertility monitor I should be ovulating soon. I will keep my fingers crossed again this month but I am really discouraged. I don’t think this is ever going to happen. It is starting to feel silly writing this diary forever with no conclusion; either I get pregnant soon or maybe I should just stop writing. Maybe I am just having a bad day.
