Heidi's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 2, 2001

I am so sick!! I guess the week with my friends wore me out because the day after they left I got a whompin' cold! Yuck.

I think that when last we spoke I had done the progesterone test which came back fine, I did ovulate. I didn't expect anything else really but at least now I know for sure. I just hope it wasn't a very costly test cause I hate to waste money. I was hoping that the doctor would be proactive and call me to follow up and discuss what we are going to do next but no such luck. I sent an e-mail to the office today so I hope to hear from them soon.

I sent away for a package of information from ARC (Advanced Reproductive Care), they have a program where you select a course of infertility treatment after a consultation with an ARC clinic and you pay a set fee for all covered services. They also have a sort of insurance policy that you can purchase where if you do not have a live birth at the end of your course of treatment you are refunded your money. I don't think we will actually proceed this way but it is an interesting concept.

Unfortunately, the weather was pretty yucky here last week so my friends and I spend a fair bit of time shopping and eating of course. I was happy to have only gained back 2 lbs last week! Friday night was our big night out and it was a wild time. It was a bit awkward being the only married one while my friends were flirting up a storm at the bar but luckily the lovely young men they met had a friend who didn't mind hanging out with 'the married one' and it kept all the other vultures away so it worked out well. I must admit that I did feel quite old but dancing on the speakers helped me to feel young again! I woke up the next day with bruises all over, how did I ever party like that and make it through university? Ah, to be young!

I guess that is all for now! Congrats to the newly pregnant ladies and a big congrats to our former preconception teammate Tammy on the birth of her triplets!!
