Julia's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 2, 1999

Well, I greeted a very unwelcome visitor on Halloween...yep, you got it...my good old Aunt Flo! She was very nice, she did call first on Saturday to let me know she was coming (spotting), and I thanked her for being so predictable (14 day luteal phase).

Isn't it interesting the language that we TTC'ers speak?

So, DH and I are off and running on our second cycle of trying to conceive our own little love child. I have to apologize to all of you who have been lied to. I told you that this month would be my LAST month on the preconception diaries, and that I would move up to a pregnancy diary by this time...but I just liked it here so much, I decided to stay!

I wasn't as let down and miserable as I thought I would be when I got my period. I had a really bad day on Saturday when I started spotting. I spent the day with a childhood friend who is 6 months pregnant. We went to the mall and had a hard time spending any time more than 5 minutes away from the bathroom. She looked so beautiful with her little belly (she thinks it's huge), it just made me sooooo jealous! So, I was depressed and restless on Saturday, but I just made sure to keep busy and the feeling passed.

On Sunday, I decided to think of all of the positive things that could come out of not getting pregnant on my first cycle. So, here is my list.

  1. Get to have lots more sex on demand with DH.
  2. Get more time to work on my fitness plan. (When pregnant, your fitness routine should be the same as your routine before you become pregnant. Well, my routine was nothing...so I've started working out regularly so that I can stay in shape during pregnancy).
  3. Get to have lots more sex on demand with DH.
  4. If I got pregnant last month, my due date would have been on my wedding anniversary. If I get pregnant this month, my due date will be sometime in August, which is nice because then we won't have to share our anniversary with our future child's birthday!
  5. More time to SAVE money!
  6. Get to have lots more sex on demand with DH.

You can see which part of this TTC stuff I like the most!

Well, I suppose we will be counting down for the next few weeks. It looks like I'm into a pattern of ovulating on day 21 of my cycle. So, I have a while to wait.

Good luck to all of you ladies out there who are waiting like me! Waiting to ovulate, waiting for AF, waiting to be able to TTC, waiting to go off of the pill, waiting for your baby to arrive...waiting in line at the bank. Hey, we're learning life lessons here! Waiting must be as much a part of life as death AND taxes!

Take Care,

Julia
