Greetings to everyone from "new home-owners paradise!" We finally moved
into the house, and I have finally completed the cleaning process at our
rental house. I spent 12 straight hours cleaning the old house in
preparation for the walkthrough which is this afternoon. At this point, we
have to get all of our deposit money back, so I took extra special care to
make everything spotless.
DH and I are just so happy to finally own our own home, and to actually be living in it. It is such a nice house. I spent most of last week painting and cleaning, etc. After painting the foyer and our bedroom, we decided to hire a painter to do the rest of the house (no wonder they spell "paint" with a P A I N). He is starting tomorrow and working 6-7 hours a day for a week, I can't believe we thought we could get that done ourselves! So, painting costs money...we bought furniture for the living room a few weeks ago, that costs money. We had to buy a lawn mower, and that cost money. We went through about $5000 dollars before we even moved into the house! And then, on Sunday, my stepson got in a car accident (he's not hurt and there were no other cars involved), so now we have to spend about $1000 dollars fixing his car.
I thought buying a house was going to SAVE us money; boy was I wrong! Also, my stepson was leaving for school this morning, and his way too baggy jeans caught on the knob of one of our kitchen cabinets and pulled the hinge out of the wood entirely, so there's another repair. Also, on the day that we closed, DH was loading a bag of salt into the water softener, and he dropped it on a piece of pipe and broke it, which sent a geyser of water about thirty feet high into the woods around our house. We had to unplug all of the pumps and turn off the water. Sounds like we bought a dump, but it's a nice house, and it's only 2 years old....it's just my husband and his son, I swear they are accident prone!
Anyway, we had been saving for the house for a while, so we can handle all of these problems, they are just more annoying than anything.
After all of the mishaps, and the 12 hour cleaning spree, I decided to go in and get a massage. Wow. I felt so much better, I decided to schedule one for a few days before I'm projected to ovulate. I figure that the massage will relax me, and make it easier for me to NOT focus so much on getting pregnant, as well as make me less of a baby crazed psychopath! We'll see how that goes!
On the baby making front...I'm just waiting. It seems like when you're TTC that's just about all you do. I'm not even a longtimer yet, and I already hate the waiting part...there's just nothing you can do to make it easier! As of today (10/06), I am on CD#9, and anxiously awaiting ovulation. I am a late ovulator...(hey, that rhymes!) so I will be waiting for about another 11 days. Hey, at least it gives us time to BREAK in a few things at home.....get it, break? (as in the water pump, or the cabinet...or who knows what else).
So, hopefully next week's entry will find me very close to ovulating. I never thought I'd be wishing for nice, slimy, stretchy, cervical fluid...but keep your fingers crossed that this is what I will be reporting next time I write! The good thing is that DH and I are absolutely floating on cloud nine about our house, and he and I both think that it's the most perfect time to have a child. We are both in great moods, and despite all the "accidents" that have been happening to us, we are just pumped to be where we are right now. This makes for a really good baby making "environment" if you know what I mean. So....let's all keep our fingers crossed until next week!
Take Care Ladies!
