Bittersweet

That is how I would best describe today, my 34th birthday. I had figured that Henry and I would have two children by now, with perhaps one on the way. No such luck here. The years are really starting to pass by faster and faster. Where does the time go?

That is one of the things that I find so difficult in this whole TTC business. Weeks turn into months. Months turn into seasons, holidays and milestones. Those quickly turn into years. Where have all of the years gone? To that end, I am committed (as of last week) not to let my 30s pass me by completely. Let's face it, I have spent most of that time chasing after a single dream, parenthood. I need to be able to look back and remember fun and happiness. DH and I have made a promise to make the most out of the next few weeks by doing something "special" every day. I will let you know how that works out.

Well I spent the morning of my 34th birthday in the office of my RE. Not where I expected to be, no. But... I must admit that I feel lucky to have the opportunity to go the IVF route. So many people are left without that option. And I have a great medical team. That is the sweet.

It looks like we will be moving ahead sooner than later. I start my Lupron on the 16th of June with transfer sometime the week of July 10th. Because of my many losses, I am in a high-risk category. If I do become pregnant, my life will change pretty drastically. I am ready. Bring it on.

I just want to make the most of the time between now and then.

Be well!
