Jerri's Diary Entries

June 19, 2000

Hello, first of all, major Congrats to Jenn. B.!! As you probably know, I picked her to be PG next. I think I should pick myself now. Anyway, this will be short and sweet.

I went for my pre-op appointment today for my surgery on June 30. She wasn’t very optimistic that she would be able to get in through my belly button since I have had so many laps before now but she said she would definitely try. If not, I am looking at an incision. She originally said it would be a bikini line incision, however, once she saw the incision from my first endo/appendix surgery she agreed that if worse came to worse she would cut me there instead. So, that is the plan. And of course they will do a PG test during my pre-op blood work to make sure that I am not PG. She also agreed that she would love to cancel this surgery because I was PG. We all laughed at that one. When I say "we" I mean the doctor, me and Rodman.

Ladies, just for the record, if your husband hasn’t been to the doctor with you yet, don’t take him. (giggling) My husband is normally a quiet, relatively dignified man. But something about the doctor’s office just brings out the child in him. He played with every instrument in that room before the doctor could get there. He had her laughing and acting silly too. I was beginning to get worried about all three of us. He was quite an entertainer. I wished he had not come or at least stayed in the lobby. Whew, that was an experience. He has only been with me one other time and it was much the same scenario. I should have known better, I guess. (laughing hysterically)

So, it is off to the races. The doctor did say that there was no need to take the Clomid when I had my next AF, which should be before the surgery. She said after the surgery she would get me something stronger than that to ensure that I ovulate. She doesn’t think that I have been ovulating at all. So, my summation that I O’d this month must have been off. I guess she will be as surprised as anyone if I am PG. She also suggested that if I didn’t get PG in the first month after the surgery that I seriously consider IUI. So, Rodman and I will definitely have to discuss that issue as well.

Rodman is dealing with some medical problems of his own right now, so our house has been a circus ring for a few days. He is alright, or at least I hope so, and we are going to try to make good, or shall I say better, decisions in the future regarding our health (his especially). So, I intended for this to be short and sweet but I am just a talkative kind of person. Hope all is well with each of you and positive thoughts go out to everyone. Thanks for letting me share.
