Jerri's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 16, 2001

Hello, I am so excited. I am pre-CD#1. Just for keepsake memory here, this is month 20 of TTC and not sure how many cycles because of the wait for surgery and the wait for cysts to go away and all that but either way, now is high time to get busy!!! I have seen hints of AF this morning so off to the good doc for my baseline u/s I go. Imagine this, the NP that I saw for the u/s is named Jerri, except she spells it Jere. Now, if that isn’t enough to convince you that this is my cycle to get PG, let me keep filling you up here. First, let me regress for a moment. I took clomid two different times last year (only 50mgs) and I did O on that but I developed cysts. So, the baseline u/s was to make sure that the cysts were long gone before I started with the clomid again. And, they were gone. So, anyone nervous about that whole issue, know that they will go away with time. That was October of last year. I took three months of bcp and have not taken anything since then. That was enough to excite the heck out of me. I was so excited, I forgot to put my drawers back on when the u/s was over. I snatched my jeans up and wondered why I felt so uncomfortable. Look down, boom, there were my undies laying on the floor. Whew, too excited to even get dressed. So, I started all over and tried to calm down. Now, moving on. I will start the clomid on cd 3 and the dose has been upped to 150mgs instead of just 100mgs. So, now all I have to do is get the real AF tomorrow and then start swallowing those pills. I must tell you that 50mgs of clomid made me absolutely wild. I mean a complete monster. So, beware all. I may become extremely opinionated in the coming weeks. The NP did say that from her experience, people didn’t report the side effects being 2 or 3 times worse when they increased the dose of clomid so lets hope that I don’t turn into a bigger monster than I did last year on the stuff.

Ok, anyway, I also got the prescription for my injection that will cause my eggs to go ahead and hatch when the u/s shows them to be getting ripe. I am going to use my fertility monitor and assuming that all is still just showing high until March 27th, I will wait until then and go have another u/s done and start watching to see when the time is right to get the shot to make me lay those eggs. Speaking of laying eggs, I must tell you what laying eggs is like for me since I don’t lay eggs regularly. On 50mgs of clomid, I was tempted to go to the ER the first month because the pain from egg laying was so intense. The other three months I tolerated it somewhat better maybe because I knew what to expect. So, if laying eggs gets to be any more difficult, I know I will be a monster. Before, I move on, have you ever seen a chicken when it lays an egg. I mean the actual egg protruding from the chicken’s.....nevermind......

So, back to laying eggs and where to go from there. Once I get the shot, I will go in 24 hours later and have IUI done. I am planning to take the rest of that day off and lounge. That is a pretty big step for me since most of our tax deadlines in Georgia are April 1st and at this point, we will be looking at March 29, 30 or so when I get this done. But, I am spending my money and if I have to work more before and after then so be it, I am going to do my best to get this IUI to work.

Now, have I left out anything. Nothing except my DH is absolutely loving his new truck. Did I mention that already? We bought him a truck but I went a week earlier than we had planned to buy it and bought it and drove it to his job and said, “SURPRISE”!!! Even though we both agreed on this truck and both signed on the dotted line, he gets a kick out of telling his co-workers that his wife bought him that truck. So, anyway, they all wanna marry me now, lol!!!

As usual, this entry is consumed with TTC talk. Afterall that is why we are here but that is basically what consumes my life, so what else is there to discuss. NOTHING! One question here and I am going to skoot for today. I am taking prenates that I bought at a herb store. They seem to be very good ones but they constipate me really bad. I have been taking a stool softener and even had to take some ex-lax to ease that dilemma some last week. So, does anyone have any advice on that particular aspect of this? Let me know!

Oh wait, one more thing, no one hardly ever talks to me on my board (fighting back the tears).

Love you all,
Jammy
