This will be short and quick. I am still very concerned over my snookems. Isn't it amazing that if the doc tells us things are bad, we believe them, if they say things are good, we question their opinions. Geez, where does this merry-go-round stop. My doc is still proceeding as "cautiously optimistic" but she says she was very re-assured from my u/s yesterday. My baby, which measured 3.5 mm on Thursday of last week, measured 5.7 mm today. That is a week's worth of growth according to my doc and all the research I can find. However, I was 8 weeks and 1 day PG according to age based on lmp and baby measures 6 weeks and 2 days based on the u/s age. My doc says that is right on target, just seems strange to me.
My fear comes from the fact that we still didn't see a heartbeat on my little bit! I did have a transvaginal u/s which should be more sensitive. My doc says that she expects to see a heartbeat in week 6 of gestational age and that I am there but that not seeing a h/b at 6 weeks 2 days isn't reason for alarm. She says 6 weeks and 6 days with no h/b would alarm her. And, of course, all of that is gestational age. I have read a lot of research that says this is normal, then I read a lot of people saying that they saw a h/b when they were 6 weeks pg by lmp age. Thus, you probably see my fear now!
I am trying to keep myself contained and not turn into a complete basket case between now and next Wednesday when I have my next u/s. At that time, I will be 9 weeks PG by lmp and baby should measure 7 weeks and DEFINITELY should have a h/b.
Pray ladies, pray pray pray!
Thanks
Jerri Ann
