Lea's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 31, 1999

Well it is the last day of the month. Come on Spring!!! This year has flown, I must say! The weather "Down Under" has been fantastic of late. We had one very, very wet day last week but apart from that it has been very sunny and quite warm compared to winter. I love this weather!

On the TTC front, I am now in that terrible waiting stage. According to an ovulation calendar, I was supposed to ovulate on Sunday 29th for a 34 day cycle but I really think I ovulated last Wednesday (the 25th). I was at basketball and I had this terrible ache in my lower tummy on the right side. It lasted a couple of hours so I am presuming it was "O". By checking my CP it also felt "high and open", as they say, so that could have been it. If so then I suppose this should be a 30 day cycle, which could be true for me. But then I have also been thinking, I could have a longer luteal phase than the expected 14 days. It is said that you can have a luteal phase from 12 to 16 days, so maybe I am one of the longer ones. If so, then this cycle may be a 32 day cycle which makes more sense. Have I confused everyone yet? This is all too complicated! I just hope we were successful this month. DH and I didn't DTD as much as I would have liked, we missed a few days in between but we DTD on the Wednesday that I think I "O"ed and also the Monday before so hopefully that is good. I suppose I will just have to wait and see.

It is DH's birthday next week, the 8th. He will be 29! You never know, I might be able to give him an extra surprise! I hope so! I suppose all the in-laws will come over then as well, great joys! I don't know about Natalie (sister-in-law) though. DH says he doesn't care anyway. I got him a little butane gas soldering torch that he wanted. He reckons it will be good at work when he needs to solder cables and there is no power. He is just a tool junkie! But it makes him happy, so that is what counts.

I don't know whether I am reading too much into things too early or not, but my taste buds have been terrible today. This morning I had Weet-Bix for breakfast and the milk on them tasted funny. I asked DH if he thought it tasted funny and he said no. I now have this really foul taste in my mouth and I don't know why. When I was PG last time, my taste was all strange also. I think I may be just getting my hopes up really early. I didn't think it was possible to feel symptoms this early. I have also had a tight tummy all day, similar to period pain. Who knows! I don't think I will ever understand my body totally! I also don't want to get too excited too early.

On that note, I think I have said enough for this entry so........everyone, have a good week and lots of positive thoughts to all.

Lea
