8weeks, 2 days
I made it past the dreaded 7-1/2 week mark and am in the 8th week. This is where it all gets new to me. I'm excited to be this far along and am more optimistic about this pregnancy every day. I know how fast it can all end, but I'm starting to feel more hopeful. I actually got up the nerve last night to get out the pregnancy books I have. I packed them away last fall after the m/c, which just broke my heart at the time. It was bitter-sweet getting them back out again.
I'm feeling a bit better than I was last week, probably because I have this eating thing under control. I don't let myself get hungry anymore. Needless to say, I'm eating about every 1 or 2 hrs. I feel like I've gained weight, but my clothes fit the same. I got brave and weighed myself and have gained 2 lbs. I guess that's not too bad. I could gain 2 lbs in an hour if I wanted to. So I guess 2 lbs in 2 months isn't so bad. I'm really adamant about not gaining extra weight with this pregnancy, so I'm eating more healthy choices now and will begin exercising again after I get a clean bill of health from the dr. With all the eating and swelling BB's, I feel different. I told my mom I felt like I was swelling up, which she thought was pretty funny and got a good laugh. She said "Just wait!" Giving up caffeine is for the birds! I'm a diet soda and tea drinker any other time. I have given up the sodas and bought de-caffeinated tea, but come early afternoon I really need a pick-me-up. I feel sluggish...I need caffeine!! Something interesting, I seem to have lost my sweet tooth. Or most of it at least. This is coming from the girl who could eat sweets for every meal if I could. I just love them!! But lately, I'm more interested in "real" food than I am the sweet variety. This is a very new feeling for me. DH is happy, the girl scout cookies have lasted more than one day. And he is getting more than his share this time. Usually he buys himself a bag of Oreo's and hides them so I don't get them. Poor thing. But I just can't help it. I guess he can stop hiding his sweets for awhile.
I have sent in a picture of the dogs, I hope it gets posted. We started dog obedience school this week. My biggest problem with them right now is eating the plants. We re-landscaped when we bought the house in September, but the dogs are doing their own version of landscaping now. Chicken wire only does so much. I have tried the bitter stuff you spray on the plants, but the dogs seem to like it! Besides that, they are very sweet pups. Tex will be neutered very soon and Annie is just a month behind him. Don't want any more puppies, two is enough!!
I have relatives from Indiana coming out this week to catch some spring training games and golf. Hard to golf when there is 3 feet of snow on the ground back there, so they like to come out and get their games started. Doesn't hurt that DH is a golf pro and can give them some pointers at the same time. The Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Colorado Rockies all have their spring training here. We have a brand new ball park to accomodate them all, so we're looking forward to some baseball in the next few weeks.
I have inquired about moving to the PG diaries. The webmasters here are very busy updating the sites, it will be a few weeks away. Hope you all don't mind. I like it here, I'm almost afraid to move on. Everyone, please hurry up and get pg so that we can all move over there together!
Baby dust to everyone~~~~~~~Good luck this week.
