C#13, CD#17 - 2 IUI's completed!
A quick update on my IUI experience. On Friday, I was excited and nervous as we headed to the office. Oh, and tired, very tired! Easy enough for Chris to just roll out of bed and go, but I had to get up earlier to shower, because of course you don't go to "that" kind of appointment without showering first! Anyway, we went in at 7:45, DH did his thing, and we went to have breakfast and kill some time while they prepared the semen. We returned at 9:45, sat int he waiting room for what seemed like an eternity (they were very busy), and went in for hte procedure. It was really very much like an exam, that fun speculum and all. Today was the same routine, but we got out earlier since it is Saturday and they weren't so busy. The samples were pretty good. Both days, the motility was 35% before washing (disappointing), but 90% after the wash (yay!). They put 12 million (? I can't remember how much) sperm in yesterday, and 7.4 million today. They like to have 10 million or more, but she said that 7.4 was fine, and especially since this was the second day in a row, having a lower number is really pretty normal.
I have been amazingly relaxed this cycle. Truly. I think it's just having the pressure taken off of me that I have no control over this. Okay, so I realize that we, overall, don't have much control over conception, anyway. But, knowing that I didn't have to time intercourse or take the right combination of home remedies for my CM or chart - it's just been a freeing experience. I am surprised at this because I thought that it would be more stressful undergoing fertility treatments, but this cycle has been good. Also, I don't know if it has anything to do with me being less stressed, but I had amazing EWCM this morning - gobs of it! I was absolutely dumbfounded since I am always dry, even more so on Clomid, but there it was today. I hope that's a good sign! At least I know I'm in the O zone here and these IUI's should be timed just right.
Thanksgiving was wonderful, and we have had a good weekend. It's been warm here in Michigan, so yesterday we got outside and DH did some planting while I sat on the porch and painted shutters. Today it's warm but supposed to rain. I plan on watching the Michigan vs. Ohio State game (GO BLUE!!!) and then we're having friends over later.
I probably won't write another entry again until there is some news, one way or another. Thanks for all the encouraging "Good Luck" posts on my TTM board - all of the well-wishes I can get are greatly appreciated!
Until next time, fertile thoughts all around!
Take care,
Laura
