C#13, CD#8
Hi!
Just an update on what I have found out about my IUI scheduling. Since I generally ovulate around day 18-20, I am going in next Friday (the day after Thanksgiving), which will be cd16, for monitoring. If it looks like I have a good follicle or two, they will give me my shot (profasi) right there - let's hope for that! Otherwise, I do have a nurse or two lined up who could help me out in a pinch (or a poke, in this case). It would really be nice if we could get this done over the holiday weekend, but whenever it happens I will gladly do whatever it takes to get it done! I am also going to use my OPK sticks just to make sure I don't ovulate before then.
I had the joy of discovering Monday night that I have yet another bladder infection - for the love of Pete! I was reminded again of how fortunate it is to have a doctor who is also a friend. I was able to call her at home and get the antibiotic called in for me, so I didn't have to wait in discomfort. Also, I'd like to sing the praises of Prodium, an over-the-counter pain med. for bladder infections. It doesn't make the problem go away, but it definitely eases the discomfort - and turns your pee a lovely neon orange - who could ask for more?! :) Anyway, I keep in on hand because my infections completely sneak up on me.
I had also forgotten about the joys of Clomid. I was reminded, though, when I was stripping off clothing last night and then getting sick this morning - but ANYTHING for hte sake of getting pregnant, as Jerri Anne always said!
Really, life here is pretty good, despite my insignificant complaints. It's unseasonably warm this week in Michigan (60's) and Ocho and I just returned from a nice, brisk walk. This weekend we are going to DH's grandparents' house, as it is the beginning of deer hunting season. I hang around with all the womenfolk, so I really don't mind it. It's a lot better than being left at home like so many women who are married to hunters!
I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. This year we all have a lot to reflect on, in light of what's happening in our nation. I think it's safe to say that we all realize how truly blessed we are to live in a free country with so many men and women who are willing to risk their lives to serve and defend it. My heart still goes out to the families who have lost loved ones or are missing military loved ones this holiday season.
On that note, I hope everyone has a reflective and positive week. My thoughts are with all of you.
Take care,
Laura
