Hi everyone,
Happy Halloween! I hope this entry finds everyone
having a good, POSITIVE week! I am sitting here typing
this on a Monday morning before I head off to school
-- how crazy am I for writing this early? I was going
to wait but I was just so excited -- I O'd on day 17
this cycle! The fact that I O'd in a reasonable amount
of time is only half of the excitement, because, as
luck would have it, we started our BDfest about four
days before O, so we were actually able to time things
right this month. I really am surprised that it
happened so early. I would not normally have thought
we should BD so early, either, but I started using
fertility software this month, in addition to the OPK
(which helped just a little). The software kept
telling me I was fertile, and I thought, "How can I
be?" I have always, even before BCP, had five- to
six-week cycles, so I didn't expect anything for
another week. I'm glad I listened and BD'd anyway.
Yesterday my temps went up, and today they're up
again, which lets me know the computer wisdom was
right on this one.
Now, on to the waiting ...
It was also very interesting yesterday. There I was, sitting in church, with all of these thoughts in my head about O'ing and the fact that we timed things right, and the "What if I'm pregnant?" question in my head. And of course, as is often the case, the minister's lesson spoke right to me. He was talking about how we need to trust God with our problems, and trust that He will take care of us. While the logical side of me knows and believes this, the TTC side of me got a little wake-up call. I need to realize that things will work out, and that I need to put my trust in a higher power than myself, and know that there is a master plan in all of this. So I'm going to try not to obsess over the next couple of weeks, hard as that may be to do!
Other than that, things here have been pretty standard. I actually had a weekend without school work looming over my head -- it was so nice! We are sending report card grades this week, and I already had my students' grades figured out (for once), so all I had to do was fill out the grade sheets, which I was able to do while watching television. It was a pretty relaxing weekend, overall. Tomorrow is Halloween, and I am all ready for the trick-or-treaters. This is our first year in a house, so we'll actually have some little goblins coming by! I bought candy that wasn't chocolate, so I wouldn't be tempted to eat it myself! I need to be watching my weight a little more closely. I was in Weight Watchers last year and got to my goal, but have gained three to four pounds over the past few months. My clothes still fit me, but I really need to be paying better attention and exercising more to keep things in check. I don't want to have the problem of my clothes not fitting until I'm PG!
Well, I hope everyone has a good week. When this entry is posted, I will still have one more week of waiting -- please pray that I'm patient! As always, I'll be keeping positive thoughts for all the other hopeful mommies out there. Take care!
Laura
