Laura K's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 14, 2001

Hello all,

Like everyone else, I am just reeling over the events in our nation this week. I cannot even imagine how it would feel to be one of the thousands of people dealing with this grief. We've been talking about the situation with the students this week, trying to help them process the information, and it's just so hard to do because there's so much to work through as an adult, how do you explain it to children? I still am struck by the blatant disregard to human life that was displayed by these terrorists. It's absolutely more horrible than anyone could probably imagine an act of violence being. I also pray that our government makes the right decisions in the days, weeks, and months to come regarding this entire situation.

And to think that on Monday my biggest worry was finding a doctor closer to my work. This sure put things into perspective. I did, however, make a phone call today and I have an appointment on Thursday, 9/20 with a doctor that is almost between home and work. We'll see how it goes. I can't help but wonder why I was able to get in so fast. I'll meet him, get a read on him, and decide whether or not he is the right dr. for me. From what I've heard from other readers and writers, it's important to have a dr. and office staff that you like, so that is what I'm looking for.

That's all I have to say today. I truly hope that nobody here has been directly affected by this tragedy, but unfortunately it is so severe that I think many of us will be touched by the loss, either directly or indirectly. God bless our nation.

Take care,
Laura
