Happy new year, ladies!
I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and is looking
forward to 2001. I know that, as TTC'ers, we all have
one BIG goal in mind for the new year. Best of luck to
all in achieving it!
I had a wonderful holiday. DH and I really enjoyed seeing family and friends over Christmas, and enjoyed giving and receiving gifts. We had a quiet New Year's Eve with just the two of us, which was nice. Although we were invited to a party, we instead went to dinner and saw "Cast Away," then came home, toasted with sparkling cider, and played Nintendo. In between the two holidays I pretty much just relaxed and got some things done around the house. Ocho also got spayed over the break, so we spent a lot of time at home with her. It all went by awfully fast! Here I am today, back at school, in denial that my break has come to an end. My students seem to be in denial, as well (LOL).
This is the midway point of my two-week wait. Actually, more than the midway point if I'm not PG, because my LP has been around 11-12 days. I would LOVE it if I went to 14 DPO this cycle and had reason to test! So, if AF shows (which of course I hope she doesn't), it will be over the weekend. So far so good. My temps are staying up there, and I am crampy, which seems a little odd, but not different otherwise. This cycle has been different in terms of my attitude. I was frustrated in the beginning, knowing I had so long to wait until O, but I can honestly say that this is the first 2WW that I have not obsessed about whether or not this was the month. Of course, I hope that it is, but I have not spent too much time thinking about it. DH even noticed that I am more relaxed. My goal is to have this attitude more often!
In fact, that brings me to my one and only New Year's resolution: RELAX!! My goal is to not get upset about things in my life that I have no control over. Whether it's the length of time it takes me to get PG, the people around me, traffic, whatever, I am going to make a conscious effort not to let it bother me. There's just too much in life that I can't control. What I CAN control is the way that I react in these situations, and that is what I am working on. DH is wonderful when it comes to doing this. He is very laid-back, and I have rarely seen him frustrated in all the time I have known him. I am lucky to have such a good example to learn from.
My wish for you all is that you enjoy this new year and all of its blessings. As always, positive thoughts!
Take care,
Laura
