Well, this is an entry I never wanted to write...
In my last entry, I told you that I had gone for an u/s (7/28) which showed the heartrate to be 96 and the embryo/fetus to be 5 wks, 6 days. I had a follow-up u/s last Friday (8/3) and the heartrate had dropped to 82, however the embryo showed growth-- 6 wks, 2 days. So as far I knew and the doctor's told me the baby was still alive.
Well today I went in for another u/s and they couldn't find the heartbeat. The embryo had shrunk. Sometime over the last couple of days I had miscarried.
So I go tomorrow to see the doctor and probably will have a D&C done.
I am doing ok with this. DH has been great. And my Mom should be nominated for the some award. She was incredible today. In my eyes, she is the ultimate Mom. Someday I hope to half the mom and (better yet)the person she is. I am very lucky.
So for now, I am reflecting on the what has been the most wonderful 8 weeks in my life. I am grateful that I am able to get pregnant and at least experienced this journey even for a short while. My heart is broken, but I know that we are surrounded by family and friends who love and care about us.
Thanks to everyone who offered us a thought, prayer or good wish throughout the last few days, weeks, months. I appreciate it more than you will ever know.
