Katrina and Karl's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 13, 1999

I had my first official baby appointment today. I thought it went pretty smoothly. I couldn't believe they had to do another pap smear, though! I just had one done in April. But I guess that is a small price to pay! They also did a vaginal ultrasound and we saw the heart beating. OK, so it looked like a fluctuation in the picture...but it was still pretty awesome! >From the measurements on the ultrasound my due date is June 3, 1999. But we all know that only 5 percent of women deliver on their due date. So at least this gives me an approximation. This also means I am 7 weeks along.

My nausea/vomiting is better from last week. I still feel pretty miserable, but 1000 percent better than last week. I can't believe how tired I am, too. DH says that I am running at 33 mph instead of 100. I'm asleep by 7:30 p.m. most nights. And I struggle to get up in the morning where I force saltines down so I can keep the nausea at a reasonable level. I've lost 3 pounds in this last week and I don't need to lose weight. The doctor keeps reassuring me that as long as I can keep down the folic acid pill, the baby will be OK and I can worry about nutrition later. I also can't wait for my energy and eating level to return so I can work out again. I truly miss getting a good sweat but there is NO way that I can exercise right now.

So besides this little millimeter size baby growing inside of me, we are also trying to sell our current house. We close on our new house Nov. 12th. It would be optimal if we could close on our current one a week later so we can have some time to paint, etc before we move in. I think the realtor plans to start showing our house this weekend. So I need to get my rear in gear and clean out some closets to make it look "bigger". ;-) I hope I can find my magic wand! ;-)

Until next time.. Here's some baby dust for all you ttc'ers. *************
