Hi!
The Results
GOOD NEWS! My HCG level tripled in 72 hours! It went from 24 to 72. Phew! I go in again tomorrow for a repeat beta and to have my butt examined. The PIO shots are killing me and I've now developed huge itchy red welts in addition to all my lovely bruises. I am a mess, but I DO NOT mind! :)
Telling the Family
Chris was away yesterday so I had to tell him the happy news over the phone (no different than Friday), but he's thrilled. My family is elated--my mom even cried and my sister pointed out that I finally got to be the first at something (I have serious second child syndrome). MIL called me in such an excited state--she was talking about 100 miles a minute. Needless to say we are one big, happy family at the moment.
Reality
We know that it is still incredibly early and that at any time we could lose the PG, but something in me tells me that everything is going to be ok...this is very unlike me. I always prepare for the worst. I can only hope that this is a good sign!
Thyroid
My thyroid levels are normal (WOW! Two miracles in one day!) so this pleases me greatly. I need my levels rechecked every month. According to my endocrinologist they tend to get screwy around 3-4 months.
Acupuncture
I had left a message for my acupuncturist on Friday with our tentative good news. She called us Saturday morning in such a state! She's so excitable and I really think she's as happy as we are (well maybe not!). She had told me that everyone she has treated got PG...so maybe there is something to it? I'm going for a session tomorrow--what she calls a gentle hold in place treatment to help prevent m/c.
So that's the latest!
