Hi,

Here’s the latest on IVF #2.

Booo Hisssss
I had my u/s this morning which showed 4 follies on the right (all less than 10mm) and 5-6 on the left (ranging from 10-13mm). I guess Dr. Hottie CAN only count to 10. ;) My lining is 6mm, which I guess is ok for where I am but who knows. Overall, this is a crap response given that I’m on less Lupron and more stims this time. I was not nor am I now a happy camper. Dr. Hottie said that the ones on the right could catch up...or not. Sometimes one side decides not to participate in the reindeer games. Ok, well not those words, but you get the drift (I do feel like Rudolph...and my ovaries belong on the Island of Misfit Gonads). Based on my E2 levels, they’ll decide whether or not to increase my meds. As for the why of this all—he said sometimes you get a lackluster cycle, or have bad luck (note to self: must get GOOD luck), or some women respond the same no matter what’s done to them (joy). We’ll know better on Friday (day 7 check) how I’m really doing. Oh and when he told me "It only takes one" I ripped his head off--imagine the Exorcist chick snapping "I've heard that before!" Poor Dr. Hottie...I did apologize, but seriously enough is enough!

In any event, I’m a mess. I was all teary leaving his office (I return on Friday), weepy on the ride to work, and cried during my entire acupuncture session. The acupuncturist said this cycle can go either way for me since my PH is still very acidic (bad). But if we get it corrected soon I’ll be ok. UGH. She said there is a lot of activity going on in my ovaries and my right one is very swollen (which explains why half of my disgustingly bloated belly is even more freakishly swollen than the other side—I’m a mess I tell ya). So let’s hope that the right side finally got a clue and decided to join in! Oh, she used more needles today than I’ve ever had. She even used one to calm my brain. I asked her to drive it in deeper and just put me out of my misery. Sigh.

It doesn’t help that I’m exhausted (my thyroid is under active again and my Synthroid was just increased on Friday so I’m feeling quite jetlagged. I suspect that as usual my thyroid is to blame for my TTC issues.) and have had a pounding headache for days. I hope I’m not getting sick (people in my office are dropping like flies)!

So that’s the latest...and it’s definitely not the greatest.

Jen
