The Weekend
Saturday was Chris’ 31st birthday. He’s now old like me! His mom came up and took us to lunch and I had made a cake. It’s amazing how anti-climatic birthdays are when you’re older. :) That night we went clothes shopping for me at Target (yes, it was HIS birthday ;)). I was very disappointed by the size of the maternity section—it was about 5-6 racks hidden in the sleepwear section and that was it! I did get a couple pairs of pants and some shirts, but not enough to get me through the work week! I’ll have to hit the mall next. I’m finding that shopping for PG clothes is really not as exciting as I thought it would be.

Sunday was spent on the couch—I was completely tired all day. So Fin and I took quite a few naps! Then I started dinner and made the mistake of asking Chris to help with the salad. Let’s just say in the battle between him and the green pepper the pepper kicked his butt. Chris went off to the ER a few hours later after he admitted defeat in trying to get the gash in his finger to stop bleeding. Two stitches later and he’s as good as new. HA!

Little Em Updated
I had my weekly u/s today. Dr. H actually did the honors (which means I got all warm and fuzzy, but only had a 4 second peak at Em!). Everything looks good. He/she is now measuring a couple of days ahead (11 weeks 6 days), which doesn't mean much, but it makes me feel better than him lagging behind! :) I didn't have a good view of the u/s screen, but he/she was swimming and wiggling. Heart beat was in the 140's and he’s now 2” long! Dr. H said that everything looks as it should. He also said I can (or not based on my comfort level!) definitely stop progesterone now. Yes, I was told I could stop last week, but he knew I wouldn’t. ;) He knows me too well and said I can keep taking it until 13 weeks if it makes me happy. I'm just doing suppositories now--Chris refuses to give me anymore shots! He also said I can stop baby aspirin at 13 weeks, but also knows that my comfort level probably won't allow me to. ;)

I get to see them two more times (so my last u/s there will be at 13.5 weeks--sooo close to being able to tell the sex!).

Not a Pretty Sight
I've been having nosebleeds (some bad) so I asked Dr. H about them. He said that's from the progesterone (natural--not a side effect of the meds!). So it's perfectly normal (albeit sucky). I hope that phase is over—I had one last week that lasted over an hour and it was a real gusher. I’m also still gagging up a storm whenever I brush my teeth. Chris laughs like a dorky six year old every time. MEN.

The Rest of the Week
I have three more doctors’ appointments this week—who saves my life is boring? Tomorrow I go to the endocrinologist. My lovely thyroid is acting up (I knew it would eventually) so he upped my dose of Synthroid. I don’t know why I have to see him; it’s always the same thing—get weighed (yuck), sit on table, have reflexes checked and neck felt for swelling. That’s IT! $15 please! Wednesday is my follow-up OB appointment which is just to get my blood work results—nothing exciting there either. Thursday is a seriously over due trip to the dermatologist. I’ve put it off for two years because I couldn’t stand the idea of going to see him un-PG (he changed my Rosacea medicine over three years ago in preparation of TTC).

So until next time I’ll have plenty to keep me busy!

I hope you are all well and good luck to my friends Bev, Lisa, and Kathy—here’s to three more success stories!

Jen
