Jennifer's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 7, 2004

Here's what happened...apparently the lab didn't mark my blood work as STAT so it was just floating around in their central processing facility (thus not yet in the computer). They were supposed to call me last night and let me know if it was located; they never did so I went back to the lab early Saturday morning. The lab called and found out that my blood had been located and the tests were run. Of course they couldn't give me the results. ;) It turns out they had the wrong home number for me and when they called the one they had a kid would pick up and hang up the phone. Clearly that's not my house (although Chris can be a bit childish ;)).

I called the RE's office (different location than I usually go to--they have three of them, but only one is open on weekends). I was told they would call back...so I waited and waited and waited. Finally a nurse called around 11:30 and it's GOOD NEWS.

My level was 42 on Wednesday and by Friday it was up to 91! So it more than doubled in 48 hours (they want to see it double every 48-72 hours). The nurse was very pleased. :) My progesterone is down to 47.5 from 56, but I know the levels vary hour to hour and anything over 25 is fine. My next beta will be sometime next week (Tuesday or Wednesday) with an u/s soon thereafter. Until then I'm just going to hope that this little guy continues to grow and be healthy and strong. He (or she!) is already much loved--my protective shell has lots of cracks in it already. :)
