Unbelievable
I went in this morning for my repeat beta--my RE's office had faxed the request to the lab. I had two vials drawn (which I thought was odd since it's usually one), verified that it was a STAT request and went on my merry little way (after a 30 minute wait, of course).
So all day I've been sitting at my desk completely freaking out about the results. Finally, at 3:45 I couldn't take it anymore so I called the doctor's office. The receptionist told me that they didn't have the results so she'd call the lab. She came back on the line and asked if I was sure I'd gone today (or something equally silly) and I assured her I had. It turns out that the lab has no record of my blood or my test! I can't believe it! I'm wondering if they mislabeled my vials? I bet the 80 year old guy who went in after me is trying to figure out how he got knocked up.
If I don't laugh I will cry. I'm waiting to hear back from their office about what to do next.
Update
The receptionist called. Apparently they HAVE my blood and the request, but it wasn't entered into the computer so they have no idea if it was run or not. How's that for technology? I'll probably have to go in again tomorrow.
