Birthday Celebration
Yesterday Chris took to me to favorite place for dinner (same place as our V-Day treat). I wasn't really hungry, but I did have coconut shrimp, salad, bread, filet mignon, and a 7-layer magic bar ala mode. It sounds like a lot, but I swear I didn't eat most of it! I didn't have a drink simply because they only serve beer and wine and I don't like either. He also got me gift certificates to the spa where I get my hair cut. So now I can get a facial and a massage! Yehaw!

Well how 'bout that (aka I don't know nuttin' about nuttin')
So this morning I HPT'd in preparation for my beta. I had stopped spotting yesterday, but figured that was just AF f-ing with me as usual. Well imagine my shock when that second line came right up. It's faint, but damn if it isn't there. Of course I figured the test was defective. I woke Chris up and told him, he gave a quick smile and went back to sleep. Who says romance is dead?

So all day I've less than patiently waited for my beta results. I told all my friends that 2:00 was the magic time--they call with b/w results starting then. And at exactly 2:02 my phone rang--it was Dr. Hottie. He congratulated me on a positive beta (42) and said at this point (8dp5dt) that it's a good level for one. I laughed and told him that there never was any concern on my part about triplets! My progesterone is great at 56 and he's really pleased. I would have liked a higher HCG level, but I really think implantation didn't happen until Sunday. I'm afraid of a repeat performance of last time, but my level is much higher a day earlier than then so all I can do is hope for the best.

Tonight I'm going out with two of my IVF buddies (previously planned). I guess most women would be celebrating with their DHs...but well this is my unusual life. :)

Thank you to everyone for talking me off the ledge yesterday and for remaining positive when it wasn't possible for me to do so. You guys are wonderful!

Jen

PS I was so sure I wasn't PG that I even set up an appointment with a specialist in NYC. I'm not cancelling it yet though...
