Hey everyone
I've decided that I have fun weekends. At least lately I do. I love that about summer -- there's always so much more to do on the weekend. Of course it's not summer yet - but I can feel it coming!
Last weekend I went for my mini-vacation to Seattle to visit my online pal Jen. I had such a good time. I felt like I was going to see an old friend -- not someone I've never actually met before! Now I just wish we lived closer. Of course I also loved Seattle -- only a 12 hour drive away and it is so lush and green. All the shrubs were in bloom. Speaking of shrubs -- Jen's gardens made me VERY jealous and have given me the encouragement I needed to start turning the grass box which is my backyard, into more of an Oasis. That's the plan at least!
So I thought this was going to be kind of a dull long weekend (it's a long weekend in Canada) as DH is fishing with his brothers. Then my girlfriend, Sue, in Ottawa got a last minute special with the airline and has decided to fly out. I am now totally excited for Friday to arrive! Sue was one of my bridesmaids -- and we always have a blast.
On Monday is my one-year anniversary. DH flies in that evening and we're going to the hotel we were married in, to dine in the fancy shmancy restaurant there. We felt that would be the most appropriate:)
Then next weekend I have to go to a conference in Halifax. I'm there for four days and I have only four hours of meetings. I grew up in Halifax and I haven't been back in years. That should also be a blast!
OK -- when am I going to have time to create this garden Oasis:) I am a total amateur gardener, so I would love to hear of anyone's favorite trees/shrubs/plants, and why you like them! They have to be somewhat hardy to survive our winters -- but it's more dry here than cold.
I guess I should give an update on TTC -- seeing as this is a precon site:) AF is on her way today. I have brutal cramps -- more like my pre-Clomid ones. I am really OK this month. I have resigned myself to the fact that we are likely not going to get PG until we get into the infertility clinic. I mean, I O, DH is fine, I have no blockages or anything. There must be something else going on! But it could be 6 months until we get into the clinic (again, you gotta love Canadian health care!). So until then, I will of course be hopeful that we get PG, but I'm not counting on it. I am not taking Clomid anymore until I get into the clinic. So I will try taking herbs -- it can't hurt right?
Well, I wish everyone happy, fun and productive weekends!
Jenn
