Hello everyone,
Well, I just got back from my HSG. The good news is -- everything looks good! My right side moved a little slowly, but the spill did happen. So the doctor said the HSG could have cleared out a little bit of "debris." So YAY -- that's one more question crossed off my list.
But the HSG was a bit of an event. I went in, all ready to go, expecting a little pain and then that's it. Well, he put in the speculum, and I was sort of expecting my cervix to be numbed, because I heared they did that with some of you guys. Well, he didn't do that, he just snapped the device on and then laid the little tool on my cervix. Now, he said some people's cervix'x don't like that, and mine didn't and started cramping up a storm. But I could deal with it, it was just like bad AF cramps -- and I just squimed and wished I could tuck up my legs! So the radiologist comes in, they go to inject the dye and just as it starts to go in, boom -- the x-ray machine breaks!!
So I'm squirming away with this thing on my cervix -- for 15 MINUTES while they try to fix the darm thing! The initial dye went through quickly I guess because that cramping only lasted a minute. I gotta admit, I was pretty uncomfortable. They tried everything and then my dr. said he didn't want to leave me any longer in that position. So they took everything out and sat me up. It turns out my dr. had an emergency c-section to run off to, but they'd come back in an hour and a half and DO IT AGAIN in another xray room!!
I was not happy at this point. I mean, it's not like it's that painful, but it was uncomfortable and to have it again an hour and a half later!! Sheesh!
But I complied. The hardest part for the second HSG was that my cervix was really irritated by the first one, where they left the device in so long, so it kept bleeding and he had to take the little clamp on and off three times. But this time, he put in the speculum, put on the clamp, laid in the thingy and then injected the dye and I was in and out in two minutes!!
But the good news is that everything is clear! I am thrilled about that. He sounded really encouraged that now that he knows that I am O-ing, my tubes are clear, and DH's boys are fine, that it should just be a matter of time (I hope!).
I decided to take the afternoon off of work, that was just quite the morning!! The cramping has almost stopped now -- it just feels like I've had my period.
So I think I'm going to go flake and watch some TV, maybe work on my cross-stitch and relax!
Hope everyone has a fertile week!
Jenn
