Hello everyone!
How's everyone doing? Sorry for missing last week but it's been busy! Hope I can fill you in during this entry because I'm at work and my boss probably wouldn't be too happy if he caught me using "company time" for personal e-mails.
My mom is doing a little better (mentally). She has gone to her oncologist and he told her that he has seen a lot of patients come in with more aggressive cancer and still get treated. She has gone through numerous appointments within the last two weeks. They have done a series of three spinal exams so they can determine the exact place in her spine where the cancer is lurking so they know where to treat it. She has also gone through a few tests (MRIs, CTs, and X-Rays) for her lungs and stomach area. She hasn't received final word yet on those tests but I'll keep you posted. The oncologist is going to insert a port in her front shoulder area so they can start chemotherapy ASAP. She will probably have her first treatment later this week or early next week. She feels a lot better since talking to the oncologist because now she has a better idea what to expect. She's actually looking forward to the chemotherapy (not sure if they will start chemo or radiation first, it all depends on the results of all the tests) because a lot of people of told her that the treatments help the pain and she's been going through a lot of pain!
I have an aunt (by marriage, not blood) who recently went through all this when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It didn't go into her bones like it did my mother, but my aunt called my mother and talked to her and told her what she went through. My mom feels so much better having talked to someone who actually went through it all. It's going to be a hard road but we'll all make it through it! Please keep us in your prayers!
On the TTC front, I am currently on day 29, 15 DPO. I don't have any unusual signs so I have another one of those feelings that we'll be trying again next month...what a bummer! I promise, I'll let y’all know.
On Sunday there was a HUGE sale of 200 plus moms who got together and put together all their baby and children's clothing that they no longer needed. It was a non-profit fundraiser for a local church and they do it twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. I went last year on the last day of the sale (goes for six days) just because I was curious as to what type of things where there and how they looked.
This year I decided to go to get our future angel baby some items. The sale started at 11a.m. and there was a long line to even get into the front door. You had to wait to get in until someone walked out. When I finally did get in it was crazy. They have all the clothing sorted out by gender and size. I headed to the infant girls just to see what I could find and everything was pink, pink and more pink! I headed on over to the infant boys and that’s when I hit the jackpot! I found all kinds of really cute green and yellow outfits that looked brand new! ALL the clothes looked brand new and most of the clothing was Baby Gap, Baby Dior, Carter's, Gerber, Ralph Lauren, etc.! I only bought seven things because I didn't want to "jinx" us, but I couldn't resist a few. I got seven really cute outfits for only $21.00, what a bargain! Hopefully in the fall when they have the next one, we'll be PG so we'll really be able to take advantage of the good deals. When I got home, DH was so cute when he saw the outfits I picked out. He picked them up like a real baby was inside! What a Kodak moment!
Best wishes to you all!
~Jennifer
