Hello ladies. I know this is overdue but better late than never. A lot has happened since I last posted so I will start at the beginning. Well, I started testing with my monitor this cycle on CD6 and received a high reading. After O’ing early last month, it didn't surprise me. What did surprise me is that by CD13 I was still reading high. Then on CD15 my temps spiked way high. The monitor still read high. CD17 my temps were still high and LC had determined I O'd on CD14 (like usual) only the fertility monitor still said high. It was then that I just stopped using the monitor. I called the doctor, who told me to go by my temps not the monitor in this case. Then on CD19 I started cramping and spotting. I have been spotting since. Some days it is red and others brown. I am currently CD23 in another fruitless month.
Today I woke up very excited as I had my RE RE appointment to look forward to. When I was listening to the radio they decided to have a contest. The question was: This happens 380 times every minute, what is it? Turns out 380 women get PG every minute. Not exactly what I want to hear when I have been trying more than a year. Then (and you knew what was coming) the radio lady announces she is four and a half months PG. I almost started to bawl! I trudged in to work thinking at least I still had my appointment. I ran into this lady from another office who complained all the way until she had to leave me (thank goodness my building is farther away). I get into the office and my phone has been messed with. I couldn't transfer the students anywhere as the transfer button didn't work. No one in my office could pick my ringing phone as someone had disabled the pick key too! Ahhhhhh I couldn't wait for 1 p.m. to come, as I took the afternoon off.
We arrived at the fertility clinic and boy, was it a relief. The place is called S.O.F.T (Southern Ontario Fertility Treatment). It was right out of an IKEA catalog. It was so personal and the receptionist was soooo nice. We saw other couples there that looked just like us. When we went in to talk to the doctor, he was shocked that my family doctor hadn't done any tests. He took my medical history and DH's. Then he decided while we were there why not do a vaginal ultrasound. So we went down the hall to a room with a machine. DH was very interested in seeing everything on the screen. The doctor started to search from my uterus and couldn't get a clear picture. Then he started to press and it really hurt. Turns out I have a retroverted uterus. The doctor did a manual exam after the ultrasound to see if he could move my uterus. Nope, it was not going to move. He then left the room and came back with the stuff for DH's SA (I get to help him at home!!!!!), my bloodwork and then some printouts on endometriosis and HSG. He said that he thinks I might have endo. He says he won't know for sure for a bit but I have three things that make him think this: 1. I have painful cramps during AF; 2. I have a retroverted uterus; 3. I am not PG yet.
So I guess all the lying down on my back after we BD didn't help at all -- I should be lying on my stomach ... LOL. Well, when AF arrives I have to call the receptionist so she can schedule an HSG. He wants to get the basics out of the way first. He thinks our first option will be Clomid, maybe with an IUI depending on DH's SA. So this Saturday we are going to do DH's SA and take it to the lab. Then the results should be back to the doctor by the time I have my HSG. I assume my HSG will be anywhere from next Thursday to the following Thursday -- he said it’s usually five to seven days after AF arrives. I am surprised at how quickly this is all moving. I am glad but after waiting more than a year this is amazing.
Well, I guess this has been long enough! Thanks for reading everyone!!!
Courtney
