Corinn's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
September 21, 2002
Sorry it has been so long since I have written an update. I did get the date for my surgery, it is October 2nd and I will be off work until the 17th. During that time my very close friend Maura will be visiting from California. DH and I are originally from northern CA and we miss it a lot!
Maura is arriving the 12th of October and staying until the 16th, so we'll have a nice long weekend together. She is dragging me to Graceland in Memphis which is about a 2 1/2hr drive from here, and I am praying I will be up to it. I am doing well with the weight loss, and I am now within 5lbs of my goal weight, this has been a tough thing to stick to but I am proud that I have.
People are really starting to notice too, especially ones I haven't seen in a few months. DH is doing well, his ankle is healing slowly but surely and he is well on his way to being healed. We got our official orders to Hawaii, and it looks like our last day here will be December 12th and we will get to CA on the 22nd.
I am so excited to have a real honeymoon with Dh, we never got to have one and 10 whole days alone will be great. I am going to miss my little guy but I am really OK with this because my MIL is wonderful with him and he loves to be with her! MIL is flying out the 7th of December to pick up Avery and they are leaving on the 11th to fly back to CA. She is already planning and shopping for his arrival. I am so relieved to be able to really start planning for the move, I have to say the uncertainty of being a military family is my biggest pet peeve, but I am living with it. DH and I are driving through New Orleans which is one of our favorite places and we plan on taking full advantage of the romantic vibes that the French quarter gives off! We joke all the time that this will be our babymaking trip, and even if we don't succeed it will be fun! We also plan on stopping in San Antonio, and Dallas and possibly Albuquerque, Phoenix and Definitely Las Vegas. We will meet up in La with family and spend my birthday (December 23rd) at Disneyland. Ahh, I am looking forward to the trip!
I stopped the BCP's because I just couldn't handle the side effects and I wanted a normal cycle before we started TTC. I have noticed my cycle is now messed up and I am ovulating a week early and my period only lasted a day. I am thinking about going on EBAY and purchasing a fertility monitor has anyone gotten one? Are they worth it?
I have seen them for only $39 and they retail for almost $200. Please let me know what y'all think on my TTM board. I hate the OPK's because I am always uncertain on if the darn pink color is darker than the control line.
Did I mention that I had my echocardiogram? It was neat to watch my heart function on the US screen. I did find out that I have a very benign condition called Mitral Valve Prolapse. It is harmless and shouldn't affect me except that I have to be on preventative antibiotics whenever I go to the dentist or have surgery.
I am off to go to the movies with a friend of mine, we are going to go see the Banger Sisters with Goldie Hawn and Susan Sarandon. They are two of my favorite actresses and I hope the movie is good.
Take care and lots of babymaking dust to you all, Corinn
