Introduction

Where do I start? I went to the OB this morning. I called last Friday since I have the feeling that I'm not getting anywhere with Dexamethasone. The doctor told me that I should bring in a urine sample first thing on Monday morning. He said that they open the doors at 8 a.m. So what am I faced with when I show up shortly before 8? The waiting room was full. I was sure that the outside doors would still be locked. Since I didn't have an appointment, I was put at the very end of the list. After waiting an hour I was beginning to get nervous about the time since I start work today at 10 (I even made special arrangements with work), but about five minutes later I was called in to the doctor.

He did another internal ultrasound. "Hmmm, you have some lining build up," He says. Well, doc, of course I do, I haven't seen ol' AF since the middle of October. I'd be worried if there wasn't a lot. Anyway, he gave me a prescription for, well, actually I don't know what it's called but after taking it for 12 days I'll see AF again. After that, I'm supposed to go back to the OB on day 2 or 3 of my cycle and he'll give me a prescription for Clomid. In the meantime I'm supposed to stop taking Dexamethasone. So that's the plan, Stan. I think I can live with this plan of action. I really hope Clomid works; I feel like I'm treading water. The doctor said that I should start off taking half a tablet of Clomid (I don't know how many mg that is, though) at first.

So, I got the job that I wrote about! I start on Feb. 1, but since the first is Thursday I think I'll start on the following Monday. I have an appointment for tomorrow at 4:45 after work to sign the papers. I'm really excited about starting. The company is expanding and is building a new office for the new department. I guess if I'm going to be new to a company, then it is best when the whole department is new. I really think this job has a lot to offer, so this is really exciting. And the main client that I will be working with is in Great Britain so I get to speak English, too (I know this sounds dumb). And the best thing is the day after I was told that I have the position, my current boss offered me a job. I had kept asking him if I would be hired on or not and he kept giving me weird, cryptic answers, so I assumed that I wouldn't be able to stay. Well, it was nice, after all that worrying and wondering, to be able to say, "Thanks, Mr. F, but ...". I also still have 10 days of vacation left over from this year (not including the days I'm taking between Christmas and New Year's). So my last working day is Jan. 16!! Nice.

I broke the news to the other colleagues on Saturday at the annual Christmas party. They were for the most part happy for me. It'll be sad though not to see some of the faces around every day, but there are always new people to meet.

Stefan just got a phone call from a store that held a drawing for various appliances and video equipment and was told that he won a video recorder. Too bad we don't need it, but maybe we know someone who could use it. It's still nice to win something though.

I hope everyone has a +++ week!!

Take care,
Cindy
