Cindy B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 4, 2000

Well, this week has offered a lot as far as excitement goes. Wednesday the first was a holiday, so Stefan and I decided to go to Holland to go shopping. We weren't looking for anything specific but it's just nice to go look around and since we live about 15 minutes away, it's always a quick opportunity to get away without going far. I bought a new tablecloth for our kitchen table; it looks so much better than our old one! It's nice how something so small can really make a big change. At the beginning of the week a light hurricane blew in through southern England, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. It wound up killing a total of nine people and causing I don't know how many millions of Euros in damages. But we're fine and there were no damages other than the whistling of the wind and losing some sleep due to the banging shutters during the night.

Cindy's car accidentThen things were pretty uneventful until last night. My parents-in-law, Richard and Angelika, Stefan and I were invited for dinner at our friend Charlie's house. The drive went well (I just want to add that Richard drove us all in their car) until we had to park. There is a creek that runs through Charlie's property and just as Rich was backing up he underestimated the distance to the bank and the car slid down the bank to the creek! I've included a picture; I'm the one crouched beside the slide marks, hard to see though. It was so scary at the time, because we didn't know how far the car would slide down. I was sitting on the left side, i.e. the side facing the creek and I was so sure that the car would tip over in the water. Anyway, the car was able to be towed and other than a couple of scratches on the side of the car there is no damage. Amazing. I wound up drinking a port afterwards just to keep me from shaking. Despite our strange arrival, the evening was so much fun.

Charlie's daughter, Carola, her husband, Tony (who's from England, so we were able to speak a lot of English!!) and their 1-year-old son, Darwin, were there too. Darwin is really dangerous, because he is so cute! I want one of those! I can't wait until it is our turn.

Tomorrow is the day I talk with my OB about my test results. I can't wait to find out what the results are. (Geez, can you tell that I'm really impatient?) Once we know, then we can take action and I will be closer to the time when I am PG. I'm really curious to know what kind of tricks the OB has in store. He said that with PCOS patients, hormones aren't necessarily a part of the treatment. Tomorrow at this time I'll hopefully know!

I hope everyone has a great week and I want to thank all of you who took the time to give me some information about and sharing your experiences with PCOS!

Sending you positive thoughts,
Cindy
