Hi girls!
I hope everyone is having a good week. Everything is going much better than it was the last time I wrote. I had so much fun in Berlin -- more than I had anticipated. I wound up more cultured than the average yoghurt is by the time I came back. I think it was just what I needed to get me back on track. In fact, AF came the day I left. It's so nice to have a clean slate and start a new cycle.
Before AF came I didn't have any sign of her. No sore BBs (they're always sore beforehand), no bloated feeling -- well, OK, maybe just mild mood swings (I think DH might say something else to this). Anyway, AF was also pretty light and I didn't have any cramping. I took a look at my cycle chart (a really long one!) and didn't detect any BBT increase and I didn't have any EWCM. I really don't think I O'd. I've received some suggestions on my message board (thanks again to those of you who wrote) as to why I didn't O. One possibility mentioned is polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). I've been researching PCOS and to be honest I have quite a few of the symptoms. I've been trying to get an appointment with an OB, but to no avail. My official OB, Dr K., is STILL on vacation until next Monday and the OB, Dr N., who I would like to switch to, is supposed to be back on Monday but I haven't gotten past the answering machine. This might have to do with the fact that I always remember to call around 5 and I think they turn on the answering machines then. I definitely want to get behind this.
I went to my doctor back in the US about five years ago regarding my irregular periods and she gave me a hormone test. Everything was normal and she said that as long as I see AF every three months there isn't a problem. But I don't believe that anymore. I'd like to know what normal hormone levels are and where I stood. Things have probably changed anyway, so it's time again. I'm definitely going to have to get to the bottom of this. I'll keep you posted on my message board.
Other than TTC news, fall is showing up around here. The days are getting shorter, it's been raining a lot more and I've noticed that there are some leaves on the sidewalks. But the trees haven't changed color yet. That will probably take a few weeks. Fall is my favorite time of year; I think it always has been. There is something so cozy about it. The last couple of years, Stefan and I always go for long walks in the nearby forest. And there is one place in the forest that we always go to when the leaves are turning into their bright yellow stage. It's a little clearing that is surrounded by deciduous trees and when the ground is full of the yellow leaves and the trees still have most of the leaves, it's like walking into a golden room. It's gorgeous. This has worked out the last two years; I hope it's the same way this year. Romantic ...
Anyway, DH is in the kitchen making dinner right now; I'm going to go "surprise" him (heh, heh, heh!). We'll see how late we wind up eating ...
I hope you all have a great week! And I'm sending lots of +++ thoughts out there!!
Love,
Cindy
