Cindy B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

January 2, 2001

Hi! Sorry I missed my last entry. I forgot to mention that Stefan and I were going to visit the family in Fulda over Christmas. We left on Friday the 23rd and stayed until Wednesday the 27th. We actually were going to stay until the 30th (I took the week between Christmas and New Year's off), but I was so sick we decided to drive back early. I had a cold when we left but it turned into a sinus infection and went into my stomach and bowels. It wasn’t a pleasant experience. On the evening of the 24th we all open our presents and I managed that much, but I had such a fever I went to bed right afterwards.

On Christmas morning I had to go to the emergency doctor on duty (who was in the next building over, which was nice) and he prescribed me some medication. Everyone else was eating the Christmas goose and I was praying to the porcelain god and pop a thermometer in my mouth when I was done. Super. But I am the only one in the family who can say that I can tighten my belt after the holidays (!).

The whole Christmas time went by so fast but it wasn’t all miserable. It started to snow in the afternoon of the 24th and snowed until the evening of the 26th (Christmas here lasts from the evening of the 24th until the 26th). It was gorgeous! I took a picture outside my bedroom window on the morning of the 26th. For some reason it seems so peaceful when it snows. When we drove back home it started to snow and melt and snow and melt (it did this until yesterday). Anyway it’s all gone now. I guess even while I was sick, it was really a special Christmas this year. Things weren’t so hectic this year like other ones.

Oh, and as far as presents go, Stefan made me (hand sewn!!!!!) a throw pillow for our bed, and gave me an Indiana Jones computer game (alright, I admit it, I’m an Indiana Jones and Star Wars fan. It’s kind of embarrassing, but I love that stuff), MIL/DIL and the grandparents gave me money, my mom and dad gave me a bottle of my favorite perfume that is only sold in the US, Chanel #5 voile perfume -- this is without alcohol and smells sooo much better, and my sister sent us a ton of homemade jam and jelly and the Phantom Menace (I said I was a fan). Plus I also got a bunch of small things.

Anyway, about TTC. I took 5 mg of medrogeston to induce AF. I took it over a period of 12 days and I finished three days ago. And??? Nothing. I’m officially on day 83 now, my longest cycle in years, I think, and I have absolutely no signs of AF. I am supposed to go to my OB on cycle day 2 or 3 and get my prescription for Clomid. I just hope that AF doesn’t come on Friday night, then I’m afraid that I will miss the window of time that I can take Clomid. But the OB doesn’t want to give me the prescription beforehand (I don’t know why). Is it normal for doctors to get all weird about Clomid or is this just my OB? So I’m just waiting.

Other than that, there really isn’t anything new around here. I hope I have more to report about TTC by this time next week.

Take care and I hope everyone has a +++ week,
Cindy
