Christy's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 26, 2000

Hi Everyone,

Did everyone have a good Easter and/or Passover weekend? I made it through the holiday without so much as a "nibble" of forbidden food. My mom made my favorite meal, baked ham, mashed potatoes, homemade bread and strawberry pie. I kept debating if I wanted to cheat on Easter, but changed my mind. I followed the diet program to a "T"! I was quite proud and surprised of myself. I didn't think I could do it, but I DID!

Even with everyone telling me "just go ahead and try it, it won't hurt you." When I went to weigh in on Monday, I was told that I was the only one who lost during the holiday weekend. That made me feel really good. I'm down 23 pounds and only have 13 more to go. It seems so unreal, I can't believe I'm almost finished.

On the TTC Front:
I'm currently on CD14 and started to notice CM on CD9, but it has seemed to disappear. I don't know what happened. I have increased my workouts to an hour a day, every day and started running again. I have heard that running can cause delayed OV. I guess I will have to wait and see! DH and I got caught up in the "moment" this weekend and BD. It wasn't planned and we did not practice "safe sex." It seems to useless to actually use protection when you are married and planning to have children. If I OV after Thursday, then we are in the clear (unless DH has super sperm). We decided that if I did get PG by accident, it would be OK. I would most likely only be about 5-8 pounds overweight. That's not that bad. We still aren't actively trying, but if it happens, we will be very happy.

Someone on my bulletin board suggested that I wait until I lost all my weight. She mentioned that she had lost her weight before her PG and it made all the difference in the world. She said that "you want to enjoy your PG" and being overweight could make it not as enjoyable. (I'm not quoting word for word). I have to agree with her. My friends that were overweight before getting PG had horrible third trimesters during their PG because of extra weight!

Well, I guess it sounds like I have become obsessed with my weight! I promise next week I will write about something else... I know, I will tell you about the surprise anniversary trip DH is planning for us (I really did find out by accident)!!

Take care and have a wonderful week!
Christy
