Christy's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
March 21, 2000
Hi Everyone,Sorry I missed you last week, I missed the deadline for last week's diary submissions! I guess I just lost track of time! Anyway, here's the update....
AF finally showed up on CD40, and it sure was an ugly one. It was very crampy and not at all like a normal AF should be like. This was my second since the M/C, so the heavy cramps/bleeding seem to make sense. I checked with my other friends who M/C and they all had the same experience. That puts my mind at ease. It also confirmed my gut instinct that one cycle was not long enough to wait to TTC again.
OK, its time to come clean with everyone, I've been keeping a secret, and I've decided its about time I share it with all of you. If you have been reading my diary, you probably noticed that I keep putting off BD'g. Well, there is a good reason for that. I recently went to the Dr for an annual check up and found out that I was 37 lbs. overweight! I was SHOCKED! I knew I had gained some pounds, maybe about 15, but I didn't realize it was so much. After the M/C, I found comfort in eating, and eating is exactly what I did 24/7. I had to be a fool not to realize that it would finally catch up to me. I am not the type of person that feels comfortable being overweight, I have always been a very active person and always felt good about my body. These pounds were making me miserable, so I decided to do something about it. I am currently enrolled in a medically supervised weight loss program and I absolutely love it! I'm currently on my 5th day and have lost a total of 8.5 lbs. I am not starving myself, and I'm re-learning how to eat well. The diet consists of high protein, low fat and low carbs. It's somewhat like the Atkins program, but a lot more livable and healthy. I go into the clinic every day and receive counseling and a B12 shot. It is so much easier to diet when you have someone to talk to everyday! It is a rapid weight loss program, so I am hoping I can drop the weight in about 6 weeks. I can't actively TTC while I am on the program, but I figured that since my cycles have been so long lately, I'll only be missing out on one OV. By the time I OV again, I will be in week 4 of the program.
It is really important to me that I loose this weight before I get PG again. I have always been afraid of "blimping up" during my PG, and considering how I was recently eating, I probably would have hit the 200 mark by my 7th month. I hope I'm not coming off as vain, but I want to give my baby the best possible chances in life, and a healthy diet (and a healthy mom) is what my future children deserve.
Well, I better go for now, I'll keep you posted next week!
Take Care,
Christy
