Introduction

Hi all,
Big news! Saturday I was feeling really crappy (nauseous, light headed, etc.) and even stayed home from one of the two parties we were invited to. No period came. Sunday I had cramps and backaches. Still, no period came. Monday I had cramps but they were lighter. Still no period, and so I checked the calendar. I had been wrong-- Monday was day 35, not day 37. My period can come up to day 37, so I thought I should wait until Thursday for it to show. Tuesday-- a little cramping again, but NO PERIOD! I finally could not stand it any longer and did a p-test at 12:45 p.m.. It was POSITIVE! I was in shock because I really didn't think the odds were with us. I mean, we weren't even really trying yet. We had been bad twice with protection last month but I can't even remember if they were at the right time or not. I guess at least one was.
We are both starting to realize this is for real (I took another test this morning) and getting excited and scared. I haven't called my OB yet because it hasn't fully sunk in yet. We are both a bit cautious because it's so early (I should be about 5 1/2 weeks pregnant) and worry a bit about something going wrong in the next couple of weeks. With Rebecca and Ben I had bleeding between 6 and 8 weeks. Although, there is another part of me saying this is baby is definitely here to stay.
We haven't told many people yet (close neighbors and two email friends) and will probably slowly tell folks as the next few weeks go by. I have started to look on the net for large sized maternity possibilities (found a great plus sized FAQ if anyone is interested) and have started a personal journal. Anyway, I should be due around March 21, 1999!
Thanks for reading,
Kim
