Well the scan went pretty well. They could see the heartbeat and the
baby
had doubled in size from the last one to 15mm. So that was all really
good. They still couldn't see much of anything else and they were still
getting the echo that they don't understand. The x-ray people scheduled me
for another scan at 12 weeks, but the doctor wants me to see a fetal
medicine
specialist before then. He couldn't get a hold of the guy's secretary while
we were in the office, so he is sending us the appointment.
However, unlike last time, the impression I got from the doctor was that he wanted the specialist guy to see me so he could give me the all clear as soon as possible. Last time he sounded a bit unsure, this time he just sounded like he was covering all bases. So I feel pretty good. I figure the echo could turn out to be anything, even a funny shape in my uterus or something, so I am not as worried. It was such a relief when she said the baby had grown. Poor Jon was stuck outside because they only allow partners in at the end of scans. They took a while measuring things and he got worried that something was wrong.
So all in all things are pretty good. My next appointment isn't until Nov. 5th, except for the one I don't know about yet with the fetal medicine guy. Thanks so much to everyone for all the support.
