Kathy's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 7, 2002

Hi everyone! I am coming out of hiding! Once again, I have to apologize for staying away for so long. As you all know it's been quite awhile since my last post. I don't have too many excuses just that I have been extremely busy and very tired lately!!! I cannot seem to keep up with anything and I have no oomph what-so-ever these days. Looking at my dirty house and piles of laundry proves it. So, here goes my new entry.

*What's going on!?!*

Well, I thought our attempts this month failed when I started spotting on Tuesday October 1st. That is when my three week AF was due. Little did I know then that AF would not be coming here in full force as she usually does by the second day. She never fully surfaced either. I was a bit confused by this so I decided to take an early PG test this past Saturday. (Being four days before when/if I had a 28 day cycle). I thought I would for sure get a big - result let me tell you I was a bit surprised to see that it turned out to be +!!! I was/am so excited but, a little reserved because of the spotting which is coming to a stop as of yesterday. I did retest in the afternoon with a regular Fact Plus PG test and that came out positive as well. So here's my ? - Anyone out there experience this with any of their pregnancy's? I have one friend who had two months of something like this and was indeed pregnant and has her one year old daughter to prove it. I guess I am just a bit concerned as this didn't happen with Seth. I am calling the doctor today to get in sometime this week so I will be asking her many ?'s as well.

*Telling the new Daddy*

I was so proud of myself that I kept the result a secret from Steve until, I was able to get him a card. (As you may have guessed it already. I am awful at keeping secrets)! I decided I wanted to tell him in a special way instead of just going and telling him. (Like I did with Seth). So, I picked Steve up a card that has a new born baby that is swaddled in a pretty yellow blanket on the cover. The inside was blank so, I did some research to see when I might be due and it came out to be sometime in the middle of June. So I wrote in the card "Daddy, Here's a little note to let you know - I am on my way! I should be arriving sometime in June. Love, Baby K. :o)" I put both the PG tests in a zip-lock bag and put them in a gift bag along with the card and a "It's a girl" and "It's a boy" bubble gum cigars. When I got home I was greeted by a empty house as Steve had went to his friends to work on our car that we thought was a goner! (Long story short we thought the Transmission blew but, found out it was the Altenator (SP)? Yeah! Now we can sell it and not take it for a total loss). I had to wait until 3:30 P.M. to let him in on the good news! (I took the test around 8:30 A.M.). Let me tell you I was going crazy! I did happen to tell one other person before I told Steve though. When I first found out, I got so excited I hid the test and went in whispered in Seth's ear that he is going to be a Big Brother!

*Telling friends and family*

Steve and I have decided to wait to tell our friends and family for a little while yet. One because it's so early and two because of my spotting. Another reason I want to wait is that my Dad is going to be having surgery on Friday October 25th. He has diverticulitus (SP?) and has to have some of his colon removed otherwise, it could burst and cause a lot of problems. I don't want my Mom to be worried about me until after my Dad's surgery is done because I know she is very worried about him. I would also like it confirmed by my doctor to make sure everything is okay with the pregnancy. I was a bit leary of posting my news here but, I couldn't keep my news to myself! So if any of my friends happen upon this entry will you please keep your lips zipped for us until after my Dad's surgery - Thanks in advance. :o)

*How I am feeling*

I feel fine except for I am extremely tired. I had sore boobs for awhile and they look fuller now but, the tenderness isn't there anymore. My stomach seems to be fine and so far I have had no morning sickness. (Crossing my fingers on this one)! Peeing a lot more often! I feel pretty calm about the whole thing too. I am still hoping/praying that everything will be alright and I have a very uneventful nine months ahead of me. I can't say I am not scared as I am but, I have good feelings that this pregnancy is going to be nothing like the one I had with Seth! I am going to ask you once again to please keep us in your prayers. I need them and am grateful for them! I will update when I hear back from the Doctor regarding my results and then if things are going well I will asked to be moved to PT. Hope you don't mind me hanging out here for a little longer...I just want everything confirmed. :o)

Sending tons of PG dust to you all!!!

Love,

~Kathy K.
