Christina H's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 5, 2000

This is so much fun! To share some stats, my DH and I are TTC#1. I am currently on C#2 and CD#34. My cycles seem to be lengthening, so it may take me a little longer to get PG. That is OK. I'm just going to have fun in the process.

Christmas time always seems to make me want a baby more than at any other time. My DH and I went to a tree farm this past Saturday and cut down a HUGE tree. It was more than 9 feet tall and the fullest thing we've ever seen.

We were lucky enough to purchase our first home this past April. We bought a brand new condominium and it has been so fun to decorate for the holidays this year! I love staring at our Christmas tree, with all of its white lights and glass ornaments. We have it in the corner of our living room and there are windows on either side of it. We are on the second floor and our living room looks down onto the street, so it's real pretty from the road.

I can't help but picture next Christmas with a little baby in the picture. We don't really want to tell our parents at this point. My in-laws already have 12 grandchildren with two more on the way. My mom has none so at least for her, I want to make it a complete surprise. I know she can't wait to be a grandma (with all the hints she keeps dropping!). I have told one sister-in-law. She and her husband (my DH's brother) have been sworn to secrecy, but they have been extremely supportive. My SIL just had her third baby in July and she isn't having any more, so lucky us -- she's told us that we get her baby things! We are really excited because she has some really cute stuff! It's fun to have her to talk to. Since she's been through it all three times, she can definitely share some experiences. She is a GREAT mom! I was with her with this third birth and it was so amazing. As a nurse, I have seen numerous births before, but when it is your own family, it's different!

Well, I am overweight and so if I don't get PG right away, it's OK with me. Actually, both my DH and I have weight to lose. We just bought a year-long pass to the pool and have been going on a regular basis. I already am feeling a lot better. I met another lady at the pool who just found out that she is nine weeks PG and she is really glad that she is in the pool every day. I figured that if I'm doing it now, it'll be easier to just keep doing it once I do get PG.

I am already taking my prenatal vitamins and folic acid. I have my first doctor appointment next month. I got a referral for a great doctor from a pregnant nurse I work with. I go on Jan. 12. Actually , I will be seeing the nurse practitioner this time around. I'll get my yearly exam and will get to talk to her about preconception issues. I am really looking forward to this appointment. I don't think I've EVER looked forward to an appointment like this in the past! HA! I really MUST be crazy!!

Well, I guess that's it for now. I think I've rambled on enough. One thing about me, you can't shut me up! I've always been told I'm a chatterbox ... don't think it will ever change! Take care everyone and good luck to all of you on your TTC journey!!
