It’s Friday and I’m actually off from work until next week Wednesday!!! I am SOOOO excited to have this time off!
Well, I normally write my entries on Mondays, but it’s been a busy week and I thought I’d write an update mid-week. On Monday, I was formally offered employment with the nursing agency that I applied with. Four hours after I accepted the job, they were already offering me work! I was so excited. That same afternoon, I made the difficult decision to terminate employment with the transcription company I work for. It was hard. There are so many pros to keeping both jobs, but there is no way I can work three! I decided to quit with the transcription company for a few reasons. Mainly, I need more time and a more flexible schedule. Another biggie is that I am trying to lose some weight and sitting at a computer 21 hours a week is not helping in the slightest. I have got to lose weight so that I can see if this will help regulate my cycles! It was a tough decision, but I actually feel very peaceful about it and feel that I did the right thing. I can work one day with the nursing agency and make the same amount of money that I make working a whole week at home.
I am currently on cycle day #56!!!!! ARGH! This is the sixth day in a row that I am spotting… very, very light spotting but it is there nonetheless. The last time I was on BCPs (over a year ago), I was on very low-dose estrogen. I spotted for three months with it and finally quit taking it. Now that I’ve gained the extra weight, I wonder if the same thing is happening. As the nurse practitioner pointed out, when you are overweight, you sometimes have more estrogen “floating around” because of excess fatty tissue. So I’m wondering if I am spotting because of excess estrogen stores in my body. I am so tired of this. I almost want to take provera just to bring on AF so I can “start clean” again. I am just not ready for that though. I just wonder how long this will go on.
On a happier note, I have a friend who is PG and just entered her second trimester. She and I have been talking a LOT of baby-talk lately. She asked me if I would be with her when she delivers to help out. I was so thrilled and honored that she would ask me!!! She isn’t even due until August but I’m already so excited! I’ve been to births before (I’m a nurse), but when it’s family or friends, it’s really special.
Speaking of babies… they’re coming out of the wood works right now! Tomorrow, I will be attending a baby shower for a friend who tried to get PG for 3+ years! They tried and tried and just couldn’t get PG. One day, on a whim, it happened. No monitors, no temps, no medical intervention. God decided it was their turn and she couldn’t have been happier. She is due very soon (either the end of this month or beginning of next… there is a discrepancy in her due dates). Anyway, a bunch of us are getting together tomorrow and having a baby shower for her. I’m really, really thrilled for her and her husband and I know she’ll make a great mom.
Today, my husband and I accompanied his little sister’s 2nd grade class to a zoo fieldtrip! It was fun but really cold. It snowed much of the day yesterday in Seattle so it was real cold but fun to walk around in the snow patches that were left over. The kids had a blast. I saw a ton of moms there with the cutest bundled up babies and toddlers and I just wanted to be a part of it. Someday my turn will come.
Well, this weekend will be full. Tonight, my husband and I are going to a Valentine dinner/dance at our church. Tomorrow, I’m going to that baby shower. Sunday we go to church. I teach the six and seven-year-olds at my church and I still have some things to prepare for that. Monday is my 2nd wedding anniversary and I’m really excited about it! I made a special gift for my DH. We have a CD recorder and so I made him a CD… on it, I talk to him and reminisce about things. I also put songs on it that mean a lot to us as a couple. It was really fun to make. It’s about a half-hour long and I can’t wait for him to hear it.
So I guess that is it for now. I will write more next week about the events of this weekend. I’m looking forward to it!
‘Til next time… wishing you lots of baby dust!
