This has been a stressful week, to say the least. I will start with this week’s stats: TTC#1, C#3, CD#24. Last week, I mentioned that I didn’t think I had O’d yet. Although I don’t do temping or chart CM, I am pretty sure that I did O this past week. I had lots of mittelschmerz. In fact for the past couple of months, the pain has always been in the left ovary but this week I noticed that it was in the right. Anyway, I don’t think we BD’d enough and on the right days for this month to be a go. If I do get PG, I’ll be very, very surprised. It’s a bummer because my cycles tend to run so long that I won’t have another opportunity for quite awhile.
Last night we had some friends over for dinner and a movie. It was fun. Actually, the guys ended up watching a movie and the girls ended up talking for three hours (no surprise there, huh?). Well, one of the girls that was here leaned over and whispered to me, "I haven’t told anyone yet, but I’m 10 weeks pregnant." Wow. She and her DH were the only couple left that we hang out with that doesn’t have kids. I guess we’re the only ones left now.
I am very, very happy for her and we spent the rest of the evening talking about birth and babies and such. I felt a very slight twinge of longing when she told me. I will NOT call it jealousy because I am not truly jealous of her. I am really ecstatic for her because she has been married three years and has really wanted this for a long time. She will make a wonderful mom. But, the whole thing just reminded me of how much I want a baby also.
I have not been well this past week. I was supposed to work 12-hour shifts all weekend but ended up calling in sick both days. I have had a bad sore throat and upper respiratory congestion. I hate it. It’s no fun at all. I don’t get sick that often so I keep thinking that since I’m sick now, it won’t happen again for a long time. I am lucky I think. As a nurse, I am exposed to so much junk that I have built up immunities to a lot of things.
Well, one last big thing to talk about. A week ago (New Year’s Day as a matter of fact), we found a house that we really like. On a whim, we called our real estate agent and asked about it. Well, two days later, our condo was on the market. I can’t believe it. We just bought our condo in April of last year and we are already selling it. It amazes me how fast things move. The challenge now will be to sell it. I hope it doesn’t take too long. The house we really like will probably be sold by the time we sell our place, but that is OK. We have decided that if we want a baby and I want to work at home, we will definitely need the extra space. Also, we really miss having a dog now that we live in a condo and so we want a house with a fenced-in yard. The part that bites is that I have to keep my house spotless now because it can be shown at a moment’s notice. I don’t think we’ve ever kept our place this clean for this long. It’s kind of funny.
So that is what is happening with me this week. I am always so busy! Busy is good, though … keeps me from being bored! Wishing lots of baby dust to all of the diary writers here!!!!
