Chris F's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 5, 2000

Well, I am not sure where I am in my cycle. I think I had a period on Aug. 10 because it lasted for four days but was really light. I am 27 days since then and I am crampy so I think I should start soon, but I haven't O'd this month, so I am still in that postpartum period.

I wanted to wait out one cycle before we TTC and every day just makes it one day longer to wait. I have heard from other women that have lost children to not conceive three months after a loss because then the birth date of the new baby would be around the loss of your other child. I am not sure how I would feel having that happen. I know when I get pregnant again I will worry so much anyway. The doctor told me that having this happen to my daughter was like getting hit with lightning. Am I at higher risk for having another baby with a heart problem? Even though they don't know why or how high, I still feel it must be low, since the chance of having the problems she had was like one in 100,000. Heck, twins are like one in 84 pregnancies and they run in my family, too. That would be so much fun, although my kids would disagree.

Speaking of twins, I went to a barbecue last weekend with some friends my husband works with. There were three other families there, and they all had a set of twins. They were all 7 years old -- two sets of girls and a set of boys; it was really amazing to see. And they all lived in the same neighborhood, LOL. What is in that water?

School started today for my boys. Andrew is in fifth grade, and Wesley started third grade. Wesley was put into a third/fourth blended class that they are trying out this year, so he will be in that class for two years. I have heard a lot of good things about this teacher. Gabe will start preschool in a couple of weeks and then it will only be Josh and me a couple of days a week. I need to get back into trying to potty train Josh -- he will be 3 in November. I know he understands, has control, and would do it if I just would follow through. He wears underwear at home during the day but if I have to go somewhere I put a diaper on him. Because he goes wherever he is, which I am not sure what to do about, someone said to make him clean it up, but I think I would have a bigger mess if I did that. Plus I don't want to punish him while trying to train him to use the potty. I was really lucky because my mom trained my two older boys because I was working back then. Guess I need to call mom LOL.

Well, that's about all for now.
