11 wks only 29 wks to go…
Hope everyone had a happy Easter. Ours was a lot of fun; we all went to my moms. Had the honey ham and egg hunt.
Things are going along ok with me. I failed my 1hour glucose test. They usually run one on my early, and at the normal 26 wks. Because it runs in my family and I have a history of yeast infections. I guess my numbers 170, which is over the 140 limit they have. So now I have to test my blood sugar 4 times a day. Its ok, pricking my finger doesn’t hurt as much as I thought it would. So far so good, I have only had 3 tests come out to high in the last 2 wks. So I don't know if I have GD or if it may develop.
I also saw a genetics counselor. Kind of a weird time to see her, now that I am already pregnant. But she was great to talk to, and took my whole family tree down. She was trying to see any patterns, but in my whole family tree, going back to my grandparents, we haven’t had any birth defects or infant loss. She said that everyone has about a 1 in 100 (1%) chance of having a baby with any sort of problem. And for every 100 babies born 3 will die, 1 will always be heart, 1 still birth, and the other one will be all the other problems in this world. So heart defects are very high, she could only say that now my chance is 2% instead of the 1%. I will have an extensive heart echo, EKG, ultrasound at 20 wks, and if they see anything, I will be going to see Dr Drewkus. The same doctor my doctor saw after she was born. So if I don’t hear his name again, it will only be too good. I will get the normal ultrasound at 18wks too. I hope that I can find out the gender, not only do I want to know, but also I like to be ready. With PINK or BLUE.
I was hoping I would be over at the pregnancy diary boards by now, but that board hasn’t been updated in some time.
So hoping all of you ladies see +++++++++ this week….
