My DH and I just added a new member to our little family! At work the other night, an officer came into the dispatch center with a little puppy. He had found her near a dumpster, shivering and whining at 4:00 a.m. When he opened his police car to get out, she ran and jumped into the car. He brought her in for us to call the SPCA. They were closed, though. So, I said that I would be the new mommy.
She had a hurt foot and was emaciated. Other than that, completely healthy. I have to feed her this food three times a day and give her vitamins. She is already to my knee and she is only 4 months old! She is going to be so big. We decided to call her Winnie (short for Skinny Winnie). We already have a 3 year old miniature schnauzer and a 1 year old tortoise shell Persian. It's tough. But, I better get used to it. I can't sleep through the day because Winnie wants to play, or she cries when I put her in her crate (because she is NOT house trained). I haven't had a nice day's rest since Sunday. But, just like if she was a human baby...it's worth it!
Ian and I have been discussing how we would decorate our baby's nursery already. We are both artists and do little freelance art jobs on the side. We are going to go all out. We are discussing something different, like maybe the whole room painted like a sky. Except, the carpet white and fluffy. His/Her crib be white with white blankets. Next to the crib, a big huge bird. We want it to look like the bird is flying alongside a cloud that he/she is flying on. Anyways, I have written enough. I'll save some more for later.
Good Luck to all of you! +++ vibes to all!
