Janet L's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 30, 2000

Hi everyone!
Three weeks down, one to go until my ultrasound!

If all is OK with the ultrasound on Nov. 7, I will submit my last entry to the preconception diaries on that date and move on to the Pregnancy Today diaries! I really want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read my diary. I have learned so much from the ladies on these boards and you have all been so supportive to me through some rough times. I will keep checking in on all my friends back here, but I think it is time for me to move on.

I have just completed my ninth week of pregnancy! I still have regular morning sickness, but the rest of my symptoms have reduced and I am thankful! I can actually stay up later than 9 p.m. but I am still getting more sleep than usual. I have gained a pound and a half and my waist size has increased by 1 inch. According to "The Pregnancy Journal" there is now between 1 teaspoon and two-thirds tablespoon of amniotic fluid currently present in my uterus. Even though the baby is surrounded by fluid, it does not drown because it does not depend on its lungs for air. Oxygen comes to the baby from me though the umbilical cord.

I think my cat is preparing us for parenthood! A couple of nights ago I awoke to hear him vomiting all over our bed. If that wasn't bad enough, he jumped down and proceeded to continue vomiting all over the carpet. It was about 1 a.m. and John and I got up, changed the sheets, blankets and comforter on the bed and started scrubbing the carpet. I was very concerned about the cat because I had never seen him get sick like that before, but he seemed fine. I bet he felt a lot better after letting all of that out! Anyway, I took him to the vet today and he said he is fine. DH and I stayed up for about an hour getting everything cleaned up before we went back to bed. I expect lots of nights like this, once the baby comes! Oh, but it will be so worth it!

That's all for this week!

Baby dust to everyone!

Janet
