Hi everyone,
Two weeks down and two weeks to go until my
ultrasound!
I have just completed my eighth week of pregnancy! My baby is actually now considered a fetus and is about a half-inch long. It is so small it could fit into a walnut shell and weighs less than a book of matches.
I attended an early pregnancy class last week. It mostly covered nutrition, but I asked the instructor about morning sickness. As I have explained in previous entries, I am glad to be feeling nauseous because it is a good sign, but it has been miserable for me at the same time. I could handle it better if it only occurred in the morning, but I am nauseous all day and night. I get very little relief. My instructor told me that it usually doesn't last past the fourth month. Although that was supposed to make me feel better, I feel like that fourth month is forever away! It was a good class and I learned a few things. The great part is that my insurance company (Health Net) provides a free car seat to all pregnant members who attend an early pregnancy class. So, my car seat is on its way!
The funniest thing happened to John and me this week. We went out with four friends of ours for dinner. We hadn't seen them in a while and they did not know we are PG. In fact, they didn't even know we were TTC. John and I had decided to wait until after the ultrasound to tell people; we haven't even told our parents yet! Anyway, both women asked me first thing if I was PG. I denied it, of course, but one of them in particular was very persistent and told me she was sure I was PG. This went on for a while until John and I finally decided to tell them the truth. So, now a few of our friends know the happy news! I will be glad when I can tell everyone and feel comfortable about it.
I have decided to move onto the Pregnancy Today diaries after my ultrasound, so I should have two more entries in this diary before I go.
Good luck and baby dust to everyone!!!
Janet
