Janet L's Diary Entries

Hi everyone!
Wow! I have been so preoccupied with TTC that I haven't even mentioned that I am going on vacation next week. DH and I will be vacationing in France for eight days beginning this Saturday. DH will actually stay on for another week after I leave to work with a start-up business in Paris. He is being sent for school and we decided to go a week early and make a vacation out of it. I am really looking forward to spending some good quality time with my DH in one of the most romantic cities in the world! We will celebrate our two-year wedding anniversary on Sept. 12 and plan on a romantic dinner on the Eiffel tower! This vacation has been a well-needed diversion from my normal obsession with TTC. I have to say that I have been so busy lately that I haven't had much time to think about it and I feel so much more relaxed about everything right now.

We don't leave until Saturday, so I may post my entry before I leave. I have decided that if I don't get a chance to post before I leave I will skip next week's entry. My DH will have his laptop with him because he will be working after I leave, but I really want to take this week off from everything and just have a good time. Of course I have already calculated when I expect to O and it just so happens, if I O on schedule it should land right on our anniversary! Wouldn't it be great if we conceived our first child on our anniversary in Paris! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

On Monday afternoon I was shopping to pick up a few things I needed for our trip and I walked by a maternity store. It was called "A Pea in a Pod." I occasionally stop in maternity stores to see what kind of clothes they have and the prices so I decided to stop in for a minute. I loved this place. The sales person was so nice and helpful and they were having a big sale, so I bought a skirt and a top. I know my DH thinks I am crazy (although he'd never admit it), but it made me feel really good. Here is my logic: First, my visit to the store was a good positive experience and I really enjoyed picking out a few things. Second, it was on sale (need I say more!) Third, I am going to be PG. Maybe not this month or next, but I will be PG and I will need maternity clothes. So, I am just planning ahead! I picked out a couple of timeless pieces. Nothing that will go out of style or that I can only wear in the winter/summer. Plus, maternity clothes are expensive and it is better to spread the expense over time, right?

On the TTC front, I am on cycle day 9. I just got my first high reading on my fertility monitor, which was kind of exciting. I love the fertility monitor! I didn't realize until after I read about it that they are actually more accurate than OPKs. The OPKs just reflect the LH surge, but the fertility monitor detects the rise in estrogen and LH. We don't usually start the BD fest this early, but maybe that has been our problem so far. Anyway, let the BD fest begin!

Well, I hope everyone had a fun Labor Day weekend!

Positive thoughts out to everyone TTC!

Janet
